Notice of application for the 2025 IIW AWARDS Henry Granjon Award

We are now accepting applications for the IIW AWARDS Henry Granjon Award, as detailed below.

1. Henry Granjon Award
 The IIW has established the Henry Granjon Award for young researchers to increase their interest in welding. The Henry Granjon Award was established in 1992 in memory of Mr. H. Granjon (France), IIW Scientific and Technical Secretary.

2. Details of Application
 One of four categories related to joining, surfacing, and cutting will be selected, and recent unpublished research papers related to that category will be considered. Applicants must also be the first author of the paper. For details, please refer to the regulations of the Henry Granjon Award.

Category A: Joining and Fabrication Technology
Category B: Materials Behaviour and Weldability
Category C: Design and Structural Integrity
Category D: Human Related Subjects

Please send your paper, curriculum vitae, and copyright agreement as attachments by e-mail to the following address.

4. Schedule from Application to Selection, Screening, and Awards
September 30, 2024: Application deadline
September 30, 2024: October-November: JIW selects papers to be submitted from Japan to the IIW.
* The number of applications that can be submitted to the IIW from Japan is limited to one per category.
December 2024: JIW submits papers that pass the selection process to the IIW.
From January 2025: IIW reviews papers.
April 2025: JIW notifies applicants of the results of the IIW review.
June 2025: Awarded at IIW 2025 Annual Assembly (Genova, Italy)
