class=\"is-style-jw-list-circle-blue\">\n<li>Welding is a fundamental technology required for all products.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Our society contributes to improving, developing, and disseminating welding and joining (including AM) technologies, skills, and quality.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Our society is not an industry organization but a social contribution organization.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading is-style-js-heading-dotmark\"><strong>Improving Welding Technology<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"is-style-jw-list-circle-blue\">\n<li>The Expert Subcommittee and Research Committee researches and develops basic technologies required in each industrial field.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We create standards required for each industrial field.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We undertake various contract research and contract projects, including those for government agencies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading is-style-js-heading-dotmark\"><strong>Improving Welding Skills<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"is-style-jw-list-circle-blue\">\n<li>We have contributed to improving welding skills at a national level through the National Welding Championships (since 1951) (the winners apply for the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Award).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We have revitalized welding in each prefecture through the \"Koshien Method,\" in which the winners of the prefectural qualifying rounds (prefectural championships) can participate in the national championships.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We support the \"High School Student Manufacturing Contest: Welding\" organized by the National Association of Technical High School Principals.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading is-style-js-heading-dotmark\"><strong>Improving Welding Quality<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"is-style-jw-list-circle-blue\">\n<li>We strive to improve welding quality through various education and certifications.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading is-style-js-heading-dotmark\"><strong>Standardization and Dissemination of Technology<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"is-style-jw-list-circle-blue\">\n<li>We strive to disseminate our developed technologies to the industry through standardization, education, and certification.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Standardization is carried out by ISO, JIS, and, when necessary, by WES, the Japan Welding Engineering Society standard.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We publish books as necessary for dissemination.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading is-style-js-heading-dotmark\"><strong>Human resource development<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"is-style-jw-list-circle-blue\">\n<li>We develop curricula and create textbooks for welding skills and technologies.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We provide education for human resource development throughout Japan.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading is-style-js-heading-dotmark\"><strong>Grant system<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"is-style-jw-list-circle-blue\">\n<li>We offer grants to young researchers nationwide through public solicitation (10 grants\/year)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We offer grants through public solicitation for AM element technology development designated by our society (5 grants\/year)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We cooperate with the project to donate welding machines to technical high schools (sponsored by the Japan Foundation for the Promotion of Welding and Joining Technology)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading is-style-js-heading-dotmark\"><strong>Awards and Certification System<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"is-style-jw-list-circle-blue\">\n<li>We certify those who have excellent welding skills and contribute to passing down their skills as Japan Welding Society Meisters.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We award outstanding technological developments and inventions (those that are particularly outstanding also
